Recommend dish: Spring roll

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams of ground pork
  • 100 grams of fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Mushrooms, green onions, and rice noodles
  • Vietnamese green bean rice paper
  • 4.5 shallots
  • 1 carrot
  • ½ a tuber of cassava
  • Seasoning powder, pepper, cooking oil, herbs for serving
  • Lemongrass
  • Lien Thanh Red Label Fish Sauce
  • Water
  • Sugar
  • Shrimp
  • Chili

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

  • Wash and peel the carrots and cassava, then cut them into thin strips.
  • Soak the mushrooms in water until they are soft, then chop them finely.
  • Peel and thinly slice the shallots.
  • Wash and chop the green onions.
  • Soak the rice noodles in water until they are soft, then cut them into small pieces.
  • Add all of the prepared ingredients to a bowl, along with the peeled shrimp.
  • Mix all of the ingredients together.
  • Add a little fish sauce and pepper to the bowl and mix well.

Step 2: Fry the spring rolls

  • Place the rice paper on a large plate or cutting board.
  • Dip a little water in your hand and spread it evenly over the rice paper, being careful not to soak the rice paper too much or it will become soggy.
  • Place the filling on the rice paper, with enough filling to roll up.
  • Fold the two sides of the rice paper over and roll tightly.
  • Heat a pan over medium heat and add the oil.
  • Dip a chopstick into the oil to see if it is hot enough. If it sizzles, the oil is hot enough.
  • Add the spring rolls to the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Be sure that the oil is deep enough to cover the spring rolls.

Step 3: Making fish sauce mixture

  • In a bowl, combine the juice of 1 lemon, 3 tablespoons of Lien Thanh Red Label Fish Sauce, 4 tablespoons of water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 clove of garlic, and 3 chili peppers.
  • Mix well until the sugar is dissolved and the ingredients are combined.
  • Adjust the seasoning to taste.

Step 4: Serve and enjoy

Arrange the spring rolls on a plate with some fresh herbs and a bowl of sweet and sour dipping sauce with garlic and chili peppers. This dish is sure to make you long for it.
