Lien Thanh vegan fish sauce is manufactured akin to the traditional fish sauce with the ratio of pineapple and salt being about 3:1, fermented for a meticulous 4 months.
The secret for this is from the usage of the Bromelain enzyme present in pineapple for fermenting nutrients, yielding a diluted essence of plant-based protein.

Vegan plant-based protein with the “Eureka” moment
Throughout the 2011 fishing season, Lien Thanh eagerly awaited lots of the fish catches but there weren’t any of them. Amidst this, Lien Thanh’s director brought pineapples to an experiment with the thought of whether the pineapple with enzyme bromelain could make vegan fish sauce akin to the traditional fish sauce fermented from fish. The thought of the director was validated four months later when the staff who was in charge of quality control tested the essence and confirmed that it came with a “fish sauce” scent. That was the “Eureka” moment which marked the inception of Lien Thanh 5-Degree Vegan Fish Sauce as you know.
