  • 200 grams of ground pork
  • ½ carrot
  • ⅓ cassava
  • 3 mushrooms
  • Green onions
  • Fried shallots (optional)
  • Vegetable oil
  • Sugar
  • Monosodium glutamate (MSG)
  • Lien Thanh Red Label Fish Sauce
  • Salt
  • Broth mix
  • Fried garlic
  • Tamarind juice


Step 1: Make the filling

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add the ground pork and cook until browned.
  • Add the cassava, carrots, mushrooms, and green onions and cook for 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  • Add 2 teaspoons of fish sauce, 2 teaspoons of sugar, ½ teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of MSG.
  • Add the fried shallots and cook until the mixture is well combined.

Step 2: Make the fish sauce

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add the fried garlic, 100ml of tamarind juice, 2 tablespoons of Liên Thành red label fish sauce, ½ teaspoon of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of chili sauce, and pepper.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch or tapioca starch dissolved in water to the fish sauce mixture to thicken the sauce.

Step 3: Roll the rice paper

  • Soak the rice paper in water until it is soft and pliable.
  • Place 1 tablespoon of the filling from step 1 in the center of the rice paper.
  • Roll the rice paper up tightly.

Step 4: Serve and enjoy

Serve the rolled rice paper on a plate with a dipping sauce. Enjoy!
